Meet Our Team

Meet Melissa (Nephew) Meiste, Physical Therapist and Owner of Nephew Physical Therapy. Born and raised in Holland, MI, Melissa started Nephew PT in 2006 and loves owning her own practice. She graduated from Andrews University with a BS in Anatomy and Physiology in 1998, and completed her MS in Physical Therapy in 1999. She has been in practice for 12 years.

Melissa loves working with people, and enjoys getting to know about their lives, jobs and families. She appreciates the interconnectedness of Holland, believing that such connections help her to better serve her patients. She also loves problem-solving, and as a result, really loves digging into the mechanics and dysfunctions of the human body. “It’s a great feeling to see someone return to enjoying their life when they have found freedom from their pain!” Melissa says.

When she’s not working, Melissa loves to play volleyball in the Winter (she still plays in a league with her mom, sister and sister-in-law), to scrapbook with the girls from church, and to play softball, which is how she met her husband, Mitch. Mitch is an avid sports player as well, and together, they love being parents to Cooper Michael, who is growing quickly and who just might be a little softball player in the making. Melissa is a board member of the Holland Seventh-Day Adventist Church, as well as a founding member of the Who2Go2 Chapter of BNI in Holland, MI.

A few fun facts about Melissa: She went to co-ed boarding school but vows she wasn’t a bad kid. She also placed first overall in the 7th and 8th grade science fairs for health related topics. Today, Melissa loves to organize and can be found window shopping for organizational items on occasion. She lives by the motto, “Don’t ask, don’t get.”

Joan Kroeze offers 15 years of PT experience. She received her BS from Calvin College and her Masters in PT from Oakland University. Joan’s favorite thing about being a Physical Therapist is the chance she gets to meet patients with varied backgrounds and experiences, learning from them as she helps to care for their health and well-being. She loves to see people achieving goals and returning to normal function.

When she’s not working on patients in Holland, MI Joan enjoys medical missions and has served in Guatemala, Peru, and the Dominican Republic. She and her husband hope to sail around the world someday with their boys, ages 7 and 10. Joan also likes playing volleyball and tennis, scuba diving, sailing and watching her kids play. She is the assistant volleyball coach at Hope College and a deacon at her church.

Joan’s Words to Live By: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13

Stacey Kemerer of Nephew Massage Services is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist (NCTMB) and has been in practice for 6 years. She has been a part of the Nephew PT family since the Fall of 2008. Stacey attended the Kalamazoo Center for the Healing Arts, completing the program in July of 2005. She became Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork in 2007, and she is currently studying for her Reflexology Certification as well.

Stacey can relate very personally to the benefits of Massage Therapy. She injured her hip while pursuing a professional dance career, and recognizes massage as the one thing that really made it possible for her to go to rehearsal every day. When retiring from dance, Stacey realized a desire to help people who are in pain, just as she had been. Now, as a Massage Therapist, she gets to do that every day.

Stacey lives with her husband, Vic Polites, and their cats, Rocky and Frejya. In her free time, Stacey loves to dance, act, quilt and read. She participates with the Holland Civic Theater and the Who2Go2 Chapter of BNI in Holland. Something not everyone knows about Stacey? She lived in Paris for a semester in college, and she made her debut at the Holland Civic Theater as the dead body in “Wait Until Dark.”

Stacey’s inspirational words: “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, thus, is not an act but a habit.”  --Aristotle

Director of Marketing at Nephew PT, Molly Kehrer received her BA in English from Hope College in 2004. Molly loves all things writing, marketing and health-related, which is why she sees her position to be a winning combination of her passions and interests. Outside of her role at NPT, she can be found assisting births as a Doula.

A new mom to Henry David in 2011, Molly is never bored--being HD's mommy is her favorite pastime! When life permits, she rounds out her days waxing creative with her husband Jason (The Image Group, Holland), putting miles on her gyms shoes and singing on her church’s worship team. Molly has an itch to travel--particularly for missions, and has been blessed to live in Australia, Egypt and South Africa as a result. She feels privileged to have spent time on five continents, and to have met some of the most spiritually beautiful people in the world! She also enjoys being a member of the Lakeshore Senior Marketing Group and the Sierra Leone Task Force through Central Wesleyan Church. When possible, she enjoys attending Holland Chamber of Commerce events.

Things you might not know about Molly...her middle name is Madonna--no, really. She’s also possessive about great pens!

She leans on the wisdom of Galatians 6:9-10, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have the opportunity, let us do good to all people especially to those who belong in the family of believers.”
